It’s time! Pick your Color of 2011
Last year, we did a fun awesome thing. We picked our colors for 2010, and then I told you what your color means energetically!
Let’s do that again
Pantone picked Honeysuckle for their color of the year:

To quote Pantone: Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.
Here’s my take:
Honeysuckle, from an energetic perspective is the color of intuition. It’s the color of the 3rd eye, with a touch of the divine. It’s slightly muted, like when you get a hunch and spend a long time in contemplation to get an answer that matches. It’s the color of a slow, intuitive realization.
What’s Your Color?
Take a moment to find your color for 2011.
Close your eyes, take a deep breath, clear your mind and then say “my color for 2011 is ______________”.
And watch your color come forward.
Or- Try this interesting test from ColourLovers: Choose your color of the year.
Then come back and comment here about what color you’ve picked, and starting tomorrow, I’ll tell you energetically, what it means for you and a bit of advice about how to use your color to bring brilliance to 2011.
I’ll share my color too, along with a ritual for saying goodbye to 2010 and planting anew on 2011.
If you participated last year
Can you go back and look at your color and comment about how it matched or didn’t match your experience of 2010?
Yay! This is going to be fun! Happy New Year Everybody!
Hey folks! Thanks for playing! I’ve closed comments for this year. I’m going to start answering the color queries in a new post! If you didn’t get your color in by midnight, pick your color anyway, and then come over and look and see if anybody else’s color matches yours. Your advice will be quite similar.
Much Love and Happy New Year!
Bridget

It really truly shows what I’m feeling about the year ahead for myself.
Bridget, thanks for doing this! It’s so much fun but also quite instructive & inspirational.
I got soft salmon, which is interesting since it is so far from the greens and blues I normally lean toward.

Thank you for asking! I closed my eyes, and said “My color for 2011 is…” and what to my wondering eyes should appear but KEY LIME GREEN. That almost neon color that’s about the only green that rarely appears in Nature. It makes me smile, it makes me laugh. It makes other people smile and laugh. I likes it. Happy new year, Ms. Bridget and again… thanks for asking. Kiss Kiss, Kate

It has been interesting, this year, trying to get back into the habit of… I’m not going to call it as structured as meditation, but… clearing one’s mind. So I sat down in a position of self respect and just let words bubble up. Turns out my color for 2011 is white. Damned if I know what it means, other than it was intimidating.

My last year colour signified “You’ll find yourself speaking of the divine, being the voice for the universe. People will be inspired by your words.” Think that worked out pretty well in the end
This year, I’m picking emerald green. But then I did the selection thingy and got http://www.colourlovers.com/coloroftheyear/2010/1450/Sunshine_of_my_life
and that’s very not emerald green!

For 2010, my color seemed to be orange. Everywhere I went, my eye was drawn to the vividness and I couldn’t help but smile when I found it. When I close my eyes now, the color that comes forward is more of a goldenrod. Do that mean I’m aging or developing a patina? lol

Hey, Bridget!
“Golden Apricot” for me. Not the color of an apricot when bitten into, which is vibrant. Think of doing an oil painting of one bitten into and awash in a golden sunset. Warmer, glowy — and if you wrapped yourself in it, the glow would soak all the way into your Soul.

I… am normally awash in blues and greens and browns, but despite 2010 leaving the color of dried blood in my mind, I am apparently still in the red end of the spectrum…
2011′s color will be deep, rusty, brick red. The color of hearth-fire, the red you see when you close your eyes, the hue of the mother’s fur. Powerful and fierce, able to protect the soft hurt places while they heal and rebuild.
Thank you for making me think of this. I hadn’t expected this answer.

Before I even started thinking about it my color appeared. Then I meditated and it was the same… It is a deep, rich, cool, earthy green. I can smell the forest floor. It’s the sort of color that you can sink into, whether it is a chair upholstered in velvety, wide-wale corduroy or fresh fir boughs.
Thanks! I enjoyed this last year and it’s better this year.

A lovely bright rich green – the green version of pillar box red.
Orange. Most definitely, without a doubt, orange. A vibrant, bold orange, with a hint of pink/fuschia in the background.

Mine is a vibrant, glowing, golden orange-yellow – like this or this or this. Raaaaaaaa! Treasure and glory and other marvellous things!
About my orange, because others have been more specific: it wasn’t that specific. It wasn’t pale, or especially deep, or fluorescent. But I did see some variation in it; it moved like fabric does.
Bronze with lots of gold flicker… shimmery and inviting and warm. Very similar to this image… http://www.impressionsareeverything.com/usrimage/6134a.jpg
